The next food system that will define this epoch of human history – Food System 6 – will restore ecosystems instead of depleting them, produce nutrient-rich foods that promote human health, and ensure that every link in the chain – from farm to market – is supported by fair, resilient, and non-extractive capital.
THE NEED
Farmers and ranchers who want to regenerate the land are often denied the capital they need – not because they’re bad bets, but because our financial system wasn’t built for them.
In agriculture, the “capital supply chain” is how money travels from its sources (banks, investors, and government programs) to the farmers and ranchers who need it. Just as the food supply chain moves crops from farm to table, the capital supply chain decides who gets resources and who doesn’t.
Regenerative producers are asked to transition to new practices without the financial safety net upon which conventional producers rely. Many regenerative producers – often smaller, more diversified, & from historically excluded communities – face the same economic headwinds without conventional agriculture’s protections.
THE SOLUTION
FS6 is rebuilding the agricultural capital supply chain to serve regenerative agriculture combining immediate protections for producers with long-term system reform. Our approach ensures that producers can achieve financial stability first, then have the resources and security to adopt regenerative practices that improve soil, water, nutrient-density, and community resilience.

Guarantees for Regenerative Agriculture (GRA)
The Guarantees for Regenerative Agriculture program is the first pooled loan guarantee facility built specifically for regenerative producers. By reducing risk for lenders, GRA opens the door to affordable, values-aligned credit for farmers, ranchers, and food businesses that are too often overlooked by conventional finance.

EQIP Bridge Loan Program
The USDA’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) reimburses a portion of the expenses for conservation practices that improve soil, water, and biodiversity. But producers must cover those costs up front — a burden many cannot afford on razor-thin margins. For too many, this delays or even prevents them from taking advantage of public dollars.
