March 2017 - FS6 Perspective
FS6 surfaces and supports entrepreneurs who are transforming the way we grow, produce and distribute food. In this piece, FS6 share its perspective on the evolution of our food system from hunter gatherer through today’s industrial food system (Food System 5). And we explore what Food System 6 will look like and how it may evolve.
February 2017 - On February 9th, FS6 hosted its first Impact + Innovation + Investment Forum at the California Academy of Sciences to mark the completion of their first cohort of entrepreneurs. At the event, more than 150 leaders from across the food system gathered to hear presentations from leading scientists, advocates, government officials, companies and foundations on the transformation to a sustainable food system, and to hear from FS6 entrepreneurs about how their companies and organizations are driving change in the food system.
January 2017 - Can This Incubator Bring About Big Change in The Food System? Renske Lynde’s new Food System 6 aims to empower food entrepreneurs and create large-scale change. Renske Lynde & FS6 profiled in Civil Eats
January 2017 - On Heritage Radio, host Jenna Liu kicks off the first Eating Matters episode of the 2017 winter season with guest Renske Lynde, Co-founder & Managing Director of Food System 6 Accelerator, a San Francisco Bay Area nonprofit that connects food system entrepreneurs with business acumen and capital.
November - December 2016 - As a part of our ongoing exploration of our sixth food system, FS6 teamed up with our colleagues at Orange Silicon Valley to publish a four-part series of insights about the challenges that exist surrounding traceability in our food system. Our interest in this topic comes from the fact that traceability is a key leverage point enabling the shift towards a more sustainable food system. As our knowledge continues to grow about what growing practices and product attributes will enable us to feed our planet sustainably, the ability to track and trace that information is of critical importance.
